To get a feeling of the real polar expedition is easy. Follow the footsteps of Barents, Nansen and Walley Herbert in the dog sled!
No need to have much experience in dog sledding in order to get united with Arctic nature and have a getaway from loud vehicles and crowds - this day dog sledding tour is perfect for everyone!
After we pick you up from your place of accommodation in Longyearbyen, you will get to our kennel and meet the dogs. Our guide will get you familiar with all the necessary instructions on how to drive the sled, specifics of the itinerary and communication with the dog team.
The environs of the town are covered with the snow-white blanket, silence and mountains around will amaze you with its natural immensity and the dogs will be your only engine during this northern adventure!
You will be two or three persons per sled and during the stops along the way, you can always exchange with your partner and try driving the sled yourself.
Lunch and warm drinks will be served on the way in expedition igloo or when we get back to our warm cabin near the kennel (depending on the weather conditions that day).

The tour includes:• Pick-up transport from/to place of accommodation in Longyearbyen
• Warm field lunch and drinks
• Equipment: winter overall, hat, gloves, and shoes- In addition:• We recommend you bring a small backpack with your personal things.
- Cancellation policy:
- If cancelled 22 days or more prior to departure 100 % refund
- If cancelled 22-7 days prior to departure 50 % refund
- Cancellation less than 7 days prior to departure is a "no show" and does not qualify for any refund. You may apply to your insurance company for a refund if you provide a medical certificate.
- If Svalbard Villmarkssenter decides to cancel a trip due to weather conditions or any other reasons, you will receive a full refund!
